The short version: we can’t leak what we don’t keep

Privacy policy

OMyDays is built around disappearing. Your rants expire in 24 hours, your alias changes daily, and our favorite amount of data to hold about you is none.

What we collect

A username and an email address to create your account, your rants and replies while they’re in print, your reactions, and the accounts you’ve muted. Ordinary server logs, which we keep only as long as we need them to keep the service running and abuse in check. That’s the list. No contacts upload, no location, no ad identifiers, no browsing history.

What expires

Rants, replies, and reactions are deleted from our servers when their 24 hours run out — not hidden, deleted. Withdraw a post early and it goes the same way, immediately, taking its replies and reactions with it.

Aliases and your identity

Your daily alias is generated for you and is never shown alongside your username or account details. Other readers cannot look up who an alias is — not even to tell whether two aliases are the same person in different conversations. The link between an account and its posts exists so you can edit and withdraw your own work and so moderators can act on abuse, and it disappears with the post.

Moderation, inside the same 24 hours

Moderation does not get an exception to expiry. A report has to be read while the rant is still in print: when the 24 hours run out, the rant, its replies, the reports filed against it, and the moderator’s notes are all deleted together. Hiding a rant takes it off the page at once; it does not keep a copy. Moderators see reported content and the conversation around it, and they do not browse accounts. If a valid legal order reaches us we comply with it — but for anything past its 24 hours, there is nothing left to hand over.

What we never do

We don’t sell or share your data with advertisers or data brokers. We don’t build interest profiles from your rants. We don’t train recommendation algorithms on your bad day — there’s no recommendation algorithm to train. The feed is a clock, not a model of you.

Your controls

Withdraw any post from print at any time. Mute an author and their rants leave your feed without telling them anything. Delete your account from Settings and everything goes with it, immediately — there is no 30-day cooling-off pantomime, because there’s almost nothing to cool off. Ask us for a copy of what we hold and we’ll send it; it is a short document.
